If you enjoy old fashioned comfort and luxury, visit us at the oldest, continuously operating hotel west of the Rocky Mountains.  As you arrive, you step back into the Victorian era.  Our sumptuous suites are furnished with antiques from the Gold Rush days.  To stay with us is to experience accommodations as they might have been.

outside-signMost rooms have private baths but, believe it or not, we have preserved the rooms without along with their old thyme shared-restroom companions.  Enjoy swimming on sunny afternoons at our secluded swimming pool filled with cool, clear mountain water.

Hospitality comes naturally to us at the National.  We’ve had more than 155 years experience making our guests feel welcome and wanted.

We are an hour from Sacramento, two and a half hours from the San Francisco Bay and 90 minutes from Reno.  To get here you will travel through some of the most beautiful county in the world!
